When the assembly of flanged joints requires a high level of accuracy, it is industry best practice to utilise hydraulic bolt tensioners due to the fact that they directly load the stud by ‘stretching’ it, rather than relying on turning the nut.
Our onshore oil & gas client required a number of hydraulic tensioners in various sizes, as well as hoses and pumps in order to conduct day-to-day maintenance activities – so they relied on our technical leadership to advise what was required.
Working alongside their flange management engineers and combing through their flange asset registers and previous work packs, we were able to advise on the full tool list.
We wanted to supply tools that were considered industry standard as well as tools proven in the onshore oil & gas industry over years of service. We specified the Technofast Ezijack bolt tensioners for these reasons.
Once supplied, we assisted with tool commissioning and handover to ensure all tools were fit for service when they arrived on site.
Winnellie Hydraulics has close working relationships with many of the leading brands of hydraulic bolt tensioners including Technofast, Enerpac and Hydratight. We are also authorised service and repair agents for these OEMs – the only authorised service centre in the Northern Territory.
Our workshop technicians are trained by these OEMs to conduct repairs, services, calibrations and maintenance on all hydraulic torque and tension tools and we complete these activities in house in our Darwin workshop.
