DKR36 – Light weight, heavy hitting

The DKR 36 is a dual-function pneumatic drill/chipper that weighs just four kilos.

It’s a machine that packs a powerful punch. Despite its lightweight and compact size, you can get more work done – up to two to three times more – than with a comparable electric drill. It’s also a lot more robust, and will not burn out when pushed hard.

Two-in-one

This dual-function machine can be used for both chipping and drilling. Changing between the different modes is simple: just exchange the chipping tool for a drill steel, and the DKR automatically switches to the drilling Function.

BBD drills – for lighter jobs

Light and easy to handle, BBD rock drills are ideal for those quick jobs and for working in difficult-to-get-to areas. They can be equipped with either D- or T-handles. The ratchet-wheel action provides faster rotation and higher impact frequency for drilling in soft to medium/hard rock.

Where to use them

• With D-handle – horizontal rock and concrete drilling, plug holes
• With T-handle – vertical work in concrete, plug hole drilling

The right drill for your application

The light weight BBD 12 rock drill is available in two versions. Equipped with a D-type handle, it is used for horizontal drilling, plug hole drilling, and drilling in concrete to a maximum depth of 1 meter. Equipped with T-Handles, the BBD 12T is designed for vertical drilling of up to 3 metres.

The medium-weight BBD15E has a combined “T/D handle” for easy carrying. It offers a high power-to-weight ratio, plus high operational safety. The BBD 15E is equipped with spring-dampened handles and a highly effective silencer.

The largest BBD drill is available in a version with a trigger valve, BBD 15ET. Older machines can be retrofitted with a trigger conversion kit.

RH drills – for hard rock and large holes

RH drills are designed for heavier jobs such as bench and secondary drilling, plus drilling for smooth blasting.

RH drills have a robust rifle-bar rotation mechanism and high-impact energy for drilling in hard rock.

• Bench and secondary drilling, smooth blast drilling
• RH 571 for smaller jobs
• RH 658 for drilling deeper holes

The right drill for your application

The light-weight RH 571 is perfect for smaller jobs. The RH 658, slightly heavier and more powerful, is suitable for greater hole depths. The RH 572E combines light-weight with extra operator comfort, thanks to the vibration dampened handles and efficient silencer.

How does a pneumatic rock drill work?

• Firmly secure the drill before starting to avoid damage to the surrounding area.
• Use both hands to grip the drill and maintain steady pressure.
• Apply moderate pressure when drilling to prevent breaking the bit and causing injury.
• Let the drill do the work, and don’t force it.
• Use safety equipment such as gloves, safety glasses and ear protection.
• Be aware of your surroundings and take caution not to drill into anything that could be hazardous.
• Disconnect the drill from the power source when finished and store it safely.

Safety precautions when using a pneumatic rock drill

Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes from flying debris when using a pneumatic rock drill. Before starting, ensure that the area around you is clear of any potential hazards, like electrical wires. Also, keep children and pets away from the work area.

Use a dust mask to prevent inhaling harmful particles that the rock drill may kick up. If you are drilling into concrete, water can help to keep the dust down.
